"Halloween 3D" is dead...at least for now.
Dimension Films has announced that "Halloween 3D" will not be ready in time for its planned Oct. 26 release, so it's been hacked and slashed away from the calendar.
Writer/director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer, the folks who gave us 2009's "My Bloody Valentine" and 2011's "Drive Angry" have been working on "Halloween 3D" but just couldn't make it on time.
Why? Is it really too hard to revive Michael Myers and make him kill a bunch of people in 3D? Kill, cue in the famous "Halloween" music, kill some more, rinse, lather, repeat...right?
But alas, you won't see "Halloween 3D" this Halloween.
So more "Paranormal Activity 4" for you!

The highly anticipated "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" from Summit Entertainment will debut a teaser trailer in theaters with an equally highly anticipated movie, Lionsgate's "The Hunger Games" on March 23rd.
Since Lionsgate acquired Summit, all things Bella are now all things Katniss too!
I didn't like Part 1 that much, so the final chapter must be good or I'll burn all my "Twilight" DVDs and books -- and they're first edition, first printing!
"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" will be released on November 16, my mommy's birthday! Bill Condon directed both the first and second parts of the "Breaking Dawn" movies starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

And we thought we won't be able to see this picture much less the movie. Troubled by rumored escalating costs ($250 million and counting supposedly), Walt Disney Pictures had second thoughts about making the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Gore Verbinski-directed, Johnny Depp-starred "The Lone Ranger." And why not? The House of Mouse is also fighting over-budget rumors, also $250 million and counting, for the upcoming "John Carter."
But now, we received from Disney this newly released first look for "The Lone Ranger!" Depp plays Tonto, a spirit warrior on a personal quest; Armie Hammer stars as John Reid, a lawman who has become a masked avenger. Together, the two fights for truth, justice, and the cowboys and indians way.
Don't you just love how Depp is channeling Pocahontas? HA!
"The Lone Ranger" will hi-ho silver away to theaters in May 2013.

Warner Bros. is on a roll! The studio has announced two sequels from its current crop of releases. First, "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" made a boatload of cash for the studio, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that a threequel is coming!
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that the director of "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," Brad Peyton, along with co-writers Mark and Brian Gunn are closing deals to return for the third installment. The producers behind the franchise are excited to work with the creative team again, and yes, this will be a 3D adventure...yet again. But the big question -- will Josh Hutcherson and Dwayne Johnson return? "Journey 3" will visit theaters in 2014.
And then we have "Project X." Warner Bros. is keeping the party rockin'. The found-footage movie opened strong with $21 million last weekend and yup, no rocket scientist needed to get this party going and going and going.
Michael Bacall, who co-wrote the script with Matt Drake, is writing a treatment for the sequel according to THR. Bacall, perhaps an optimist, already began writing the sequel weeks before the movie even opened!
It's unclear whether the actors from the original film, Thomas Mann, Oliver Cooper, and Jonathan Brown, are returning for the sequel. One thing's for sure, more raucous, raunchy time will be had by "Project X" fans.
