We learned that Chris Weitz, the director of the second "Twilight" installment, "New Moon," passed on to directing the third film in the franchise, "Eclipse," because of timing issues -- "New Moon" and "Eclipse" are due to be released so close together (Nov. 20, 2009 for "New Moon" and June 30, 2010 for "Eclipse").
So while Weitz will be working on post-production for "New Moon," the cast will be shooting "Eclipse." So yeah, Weitz said no understandably.
Summit Entertainment is reportedly talking to a "select group of directors," and one of them is, Drew Barrymore!
Well, the actress turned director has just finished working on her project, "Whip It!" starring "Juno's" Ellen Page. While that film and Barrymore's directing talent remain untested, Summit is reportedly interested.
Although Summit nor Barrymore declined comment, this is still interesting news to be added to the growing "Twilight" saga.

This picture was on the cover of People Magazine dated July 11, 1983. Twenty six years later, Eddie Murphy will play the guy he's pictured with -- the iconic comedian, Richard Pryor.
Murphy has reportedly signed up to star in "Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said?" The best part? The actor is going to return to the loving arms of his "Dreamgirls" director, Bill Condon, who also produced this year's Oscars.
And Murphy, working hard to remove "Meet Dave" and "Norbit" from moviegoers' minds, has reportedly waived his usual multi-million dollar fee to get the chance to play Pryor, and prove his acting mettle!
This film will certainly have drama! The film will showcase Pryor's much-publicized battles with alcohol and drug addiction, and then in the end, his struggle with multiple sclerosis. The icon died in 2005.
