The National Society of Film Critics has announced the winners of its annual awards and "Melancholia" came out on top as Best Picture of the Year 2011. Kirsten Dunst took home the Best Actress award for her performance in the Lars von Trier film.
Brad Pitt was named Best Actor for his double whammy work in "Moneyball" and "The Tree of Life." Albert Brooks won Best Supporting Actor for "Drive" and Jessica Chastain was hailed as the Best Supporting Actress of the year for her work in "The Three of Life," "Take Shelter," and "The Help."

The Orange British Academy has released its longlist for the BAFTA Film Awards in 2012 and boy oh boy, it's quite long! Tomas Alfredson's "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" and Simon Curtis' "My Week with Marilyn" topped the list with 16 nods each including Best Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay. Both movies also received five acting mentions.
The Longlist is the result of Round One voting by members of the British Academy. Round two officially opens today, January 6. Nominations in all categories will be announced on Tuesday, January 17. Winners will be announced at the Orange British Academy Film Awards on Sunday, February 12.
