Two films about the iconic Steve McQueen are racing to the big screen!
Here's the comparison breakdown:
WORKING TITLE: "Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel"
PRODUCERS: Michael Cerenzie and Christine Peters
BASED ON: Marshall Terrill's biography of the same title
PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON: McQueen's career as well as his three marriages, including his stormy relationship with Ali McGraw, as well as his battle against lung cancer.
MCQUEEN CONNECTION: Barbara Minty, McQueen's widow, is collaborating with the producers
WORKING TITLE: "McQueen"
PRODUCER: David Foster
BASED ON: Memoir by McQueen's first wife, Neile McQueen Toffel called "My Husband, My Friend"
PROJECT WILL FOCUS ON: Relationship between Toffel and McQueen
MCQUEEN CONNECTION: Toffel, plus Foster used to be McQueen's publicist and he was also the producer of the actor's flick, "The Getaway"
Alright, both films have the blessings of McQueen's ex-wives, but the first film sound more intriguing -- drugs, fame, failed marriages! BUT, the second film has that "Walk the Line" vibe, about a young couple on their way to making their marks in pop culture!
So we'll see which one will get to the big screen first! Remember those failed attempts to make two separate films about Janis Joplin? Well, these flicks could follow the "failed" route, or one of them may actually succeed!

Samson and Delilah will be going to space!
Warner Bros. has acquired "Samson" -- the futuristic take on the good, old Samson and Delilah story.
According to Variety, there was a three-studio bidding war on this pitch, and WB prevailed!
You know the story by now, Delilah betrays Samson by chopping off his pretty, long hair -- the source of his power! Shame on her!
Scott Silver ("8 Mile") will write the script, and Francis Lawrence ("I Am Legend") will direct.
A futuristic "Samson." Hhhmmmmm...WB must save great budget for hair!

No, this is not the poster art for "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" but I'll tell you where you can see it.
By watching...wait for it..."Confessions of a Shopalic."
Yeah, believe me! Halfway into the movie, you will be treated with posters, not only from "Prince of Persia" but for "G-Force" as well. They're all laid out there as Times Square billboard ads, similar to "Batman vs. Superman" poster you saw for "I Am Legend."
What's with the advanced advertisement?
"Shopaholic" producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, is also in charge with both "Persia" and "G-Force." Hence, the crossover love. But will the fans of "Shopaholic" be enthralled with "Persia?" Maybe not, but the sight of Jake Gyllenhaal as Prince Dastan may melt their hearts
By the way, Quentin Tarantino uses this inside jokey thing too, like featuring his fictional cigarette brand "Red Apple" as billboards. JJ Abrams, as well, with his "Slusho" ads, and "I Am Legend's" Batman vs. Superman poster.
So keep an eye out for these fun posters when "Confessions of a Shopaholic" opens Feb. 13, also, keep an eye out for my interviews with Isla Fisher, director PJ Hogan, and Bruckheimer coming up.
