No Surprise -- "the Amazing Spider-Man" Tops Box-Office Weekend

It was no big surprise but it was still an amazing feat -- "The Amazing Spider-Man" debuted at No. 1 with $65 million, and has earned $140 million since opening Tuesday. Starring Andrew Garfield as our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man/Peter Parker and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, the Marc Webb-directed flick's success squashed naysayers (yup, including me) who thought it was too early for a reboot. I stand corrected.

Previous weekend's box-office champ, Seth MacFarlane's "Ted" fell to No. 2 with $32.6 and is on-track to become the No. 1 R-rated comedy, sorry "The Hangover."
