Here it is folks, the DGA announced their nominees! And, it's kind of heart-warming to know, there are no nominees from a Hollywood blockbuster film! It's a diverse selection indeed (all the nominees are included in my Top 10 favorite films !)
The DGA honored those directors with their personal visions stamped all over the screen!
Keep in mind that the DGA winner and the Oscar winner for director have matched in 53 of the last 59 years, including last year, when Martin Scorsese won for "The Departed."
The winner will be announced at the DGA Awards dinner and ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel on Saturday evening, January 26, 2008.
And the nominees are:
• Paul Thomas Anderson - "There Will Be Blood" (Paramount Vantage)
• Joel Coen & Ethan Coen - "No Country for Old Men" (Miramax ilms and Paramount Vantage)
• Tony Gilroy - "Michael Clayton" (Warner Bros.)
• Sean Penn - "Into the Wild" (Paramount Vantage)
• Julian Schnabel - "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" (Miramax Films)
