First, the good news for Stephen King fans (like me!). The author's "The Ten O'Clock People" is getting a big-screen adaptation according to Deadline. The novella is part of King's 1993 "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" collection.
Then, the not-so-good news -- Tom Holland has signed on to adapt and direct. Sure, Holland has adapted two King works ("The Langoliers" and "Thinner") but they're not necessarily great, or gosh, good movies either. But, he also directed the original "Fright Night" and "Child's Play" so we may still have hope!
"The Ten O'Clock People" was written by King during his struggles with smoking. Hence, there's a treasure trove of stories that the author has written about cigarette addiction.
The film will go into production this summer.
Read the plot of "The Ten O'Clock People" from Wiki, it's all about "batmen":
The main character, Pearson, is a smoker trying hard to quit for health reasons. He discovers a horrible aspect of reality that only those attempting to quit like him are capable of seeing - that many of the people living among us in positions of power, including many police officers and political figures and even the Vice President of the United States, are in fact inhuman monsters disguised as people. A unique chemical imbalance, caused by his smoking only on his morning break (thus the reference to Ten O' Clock in the title) makes him able to see the true nature of these creatures through their disguises. When Pearson first notices one of them, a young black man named Dudley "Duke" Rhinemann stops him from screaming and calms him down.
Dudley later explains that if Pearson wants to live, he must go about his day as usual and meet him at 3 o'clock after work. Pearson does as he is told and discovers that his boss is also one of the "batmen". He leaves work a bit shaken, meets Dudley and goes to a bar with him. After explaining that smokers trying to quit are the only ones who see them, Dudley invites Pearson to a meeting of those who can see the "batmen".
Shortly after arriving, the leader of the group says he has "big news" for them all. Pearson, who already had some suspicion about the idolized leader realizes the man is stalling for time. He gives warning. The leader then says the batmen have granted them amnesty, but soon after a horde of them attack those in the meeting. Many die. Pearson, along with two others, manage to escape the meeting. The trio flee to Omaha and form a new resistance group of 'Ten O'Clock People'. This group successfully kills many 'batmen'.

Nope, this is not a joke folks, but Andrew Dice Clay (remember him?) and Louis C.K. are joining Woody Allen's latest film! But have no fear. The prolific director is an actor's director so I have faith that he will allow the stand-up comics to shine! But honestly though? Shining in a film full of great stars may be a hard thing to do!
Just take a look at the line-up that Allen has assembled -- Alec Baldwin (so funny in "Rock of Ages"), Cate Blanchett, Michael Emerson, Sally Hawkins, and Peter Sarsgaard.
Like any upcoming Allen film, the plot of this movie is completely under wraps. But what we do know is that it's shooting this summer in New York and San Francisco.
Let's see if Allen will let Clay do his dirty nursery rhymes.

"That you should be as afraid of him as I am," Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle muses near the end of the exclusive clip which premiered at the MTV Movie Awards last night introduced by writer/director Christopher Nolan.
We're all excited for the return of Batman on the big screen even though this one is the finale. The end. That's all folks!
The exclusive clip shown featured more Catwoman, more Bane (Tom Hardy) -- the two baddies that make Batman's (Christian Bale) life miserable. Or is it the Dark Knight's penchant for saving the world that makes his life a living hell? We'll find out on July 20th when the threequel opens.
